Here is a picture of the non-riders' home base for the tour. Haydn's dad, Bill, flew into Sydney on Friday afternoon and we drove up together. It's about 4.5 hours to Tamworth but we hit some Friday night Sydney traffic so it was a bit longer. Bill has cycling friends from Newcastle, Ian and Lyn Lovell. You will notice Lyn's superior preparedness for cycling events. Haydn and I don't even have lawn chairs yet and I'm not sure if we would have ever come up with a shade tent. She was nice enough to share though. It was so cold in the evening but turned into a beautiful day. Bill and I had been mocked for bringing shorts, but we had the last laugh when it started roasting. We both bumped the legs up a bit from their lovely porcelain shade.
